Ries' is co-author of “After Brexit: Alternative Forms of Brexit and their Implications for the United Kingdom, the European Union, and the United States” (RAND 2017). He has more than three decades in the U.S. diplomatic service including four years (2000-2004) as Principal Deputy Asst Secy of State for European Affairs, where he was responsible for the U.S.-EU dialogue and economic relations between the U.S. and Europe.
